Compiling openwrt for WPJ342 fails

  1. 6 months ago

    Hello,
I try to compile openwrt for WPJ342.
I am following the instructions, given at:
    http://wiki.compex.com.sg/wiki/OpenWRT_Compile_Instructions
using Designated Driver, because the stable distribution does
    not support this router.
    I am using Ubuntu 16.04.
I get the following error message when running make -j1 V=s

    make[3]: Entering directory '/home/ufechner/openwrt/openwrt/feeds/luci/modules/luci-base'

/home/ufechner/openwrt/openwrt/include/toplevel.mk:192: recipe for target 'world' failed
    make: *** [world] Error 2

Any idea how to fix this?

    Best regards:

    Hello Uwe,

Could you try Chaos Calmer please? It does support the WPJ342 router.

More updated flash instructions can be found here:
    http://wiki.compex.com.sg/wiki/Using_OpenWrt_with_WPJ342

    1. Set your PC to 192.168.1.10. Go into the loader mode of the board.

    2. Put the OpenWrt firmware image file at

     ftp://192.168.1.10/openwrt-15.05-ar71xx-generic-wpj342-16M-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

This can be achieved by running the Tftpd32 program in the same directory as the firmware file.

    3. Execute the following commands in the serial console e.g. PuTTY

     tftpboot 0x80500000 openwrt-15.05-ar71xx-generic-wpj342-16M-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
     erase 0x9f030000 +$filesize
     cp.b $fileaddr 0x9f030000 $filesize
     reset

    Best,
    Winston
