netboot/tftpboot a board

  1. 7 months ago

    Hi,

    I have a WPJ344HV-A 6A08 and i have loaded a openWrt image to this.
I want to know if it would be possible for me to netboot/tftpboot the board from the u-boot prompt. That is copying the image through tftp and loading the image to ram. I am trying to avoid writing the image to board.

    Thanks

    Dear Sroy,

    Sorry, cannot be done.

Please refer to the following instructions to flash OpenWRT firmware.

    1. Set your PC to 192.168.1.10. Go into the loader mode of the board. Please refer to CompexWRT Firmware Upgrade .

    2. Put the OpenWrt firmware image file at

    ftp://192.168.1.10/openwrt-15.05-ar71xx-generic-wpj344-16M-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
This can be achieved by running the Tftpd32 program in the same directory as the firmware file.

    3. Execute the following commands in the serial console e.g. PuTTY

    tftpboot 0x80500000 openwrt-15.05-ar71xx-generic-wpj344-16M-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin
    erase 0x9f030000 +$filesize
    cp.b $fileaddr 0x9f030000 $filesize
    reset
